About Us

Guided by Seva—Selfless Service

Seva means selfless service. It is the spirit of helping others without expectation—rooted in compassion, dignity, and the belief that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and understood early.

Who We Are

The Sevan Childhood Foundation is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to early autism assessments, intervention therapies, and developmental support for children in British Columbia and underserved communities.

We were created with a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves to be seen, supported, and understood early—regardless of their family's financial or systemic challenges.

Early identification and timely intervention can transform the entire trajectory of a child's life. Yet too many families face long waitlists, high private assessment costs, or a lack of clear guidance on where to begin. Our mission is to remove these barriers and ensure that every family has the opportunity to access the care their children need during the most critical early years.

Our Mission

"Early support changes everything."

Our mission is to help children receive timely autism assessments and access to early intervention pathways, while empowering families with clear, culturally sensitive educational resources.

We work to:

Fund ASD assessments for families facing financial hardship

Support early intervention, including SLP, OT, PT, behavioural services, and developmental programs

Provide educational resources that explain ASD, funding options, and next steps

Engage in outreach to underserved communities where awareness and access are limited

Partner with clinicians, educators, and organizations to strengthen community support systems

Our Values

Our foundation is deeply rooted in Seva—selfless service—and guided by the Sikh principle of Sarbat da Bhala, meaning the upliftment and welfare of all. These values are reflected in everything we do.

Compassion

We serve families with empathy, dignity, and understanding.

Equity

Every child deserves access to early developmental support, no matter their background.

Service

We are committed to supporting families who have been overlooked, underserved, or held back by systemic barriers.

Integrity

We operate with transparency, accountability, and a commitment to responsible stewardship of community support.

Impact

We focus on early initiatives that create long-term, meaningful change for children and families.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every child—regardless of circumstance, culture, or financial status—has access to early autism assessment and intervention. A world where families feel supported, informed, and empowered. A world where awareness, understanding, and compassion guide the systems that serve our children.

As the Foundation grows, we aim to expand our reach across Canada and beyond, build partnerships with healthcare providers, and continue investing in education and awareness initiatives that lift entire communities.

Growing Beyond Borders

Our vision extends beyond British Columbia, working toward a future where every community has the resources and support to serve children with autism.

Why We Started

The Foundation was created in response to the overwhelming need we witnessed firsthand: families lost in the process, children waiting years for answers, and communities with little access to autism resources or support.

We launched the Sevan Childhood Foundation to change that.

  • To open doors.
  • To provide early answers.
  • To offer hope.
  • And to serve—rooted in compassion, guided by Seva, and committed to the upliftment of all children.
